The all-new VIVA city car makes its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in the spring, and hits the showrooms in the summer. It’s small, it’s smart and it’s set to shake up the market.
Arriving in summer, the all-new five-door VIVA is the latest addition to Vauxhall’s small car range, joining the fun ADAM and the popular Corsa. Paying homage to Vauxhall’s original Viva, made from 1963 to 1979, the all-new VIVA shares the original’s philosophy of clean lines, durability and practicality. It’s designed for modern, everyday life and, at 3.68 metres long, is practical and spacious, providing room for up to five people.
VIVA is the latest model in the range to display Vauxhall’s sculptured, precise design philosophy. Three strong feature lines swoop down the sides, with the signature ‘blade’, seen previously on Insignia and GTC, amongst others, slicing through the doors. Two others run through the front and rear door handles. Large headlights and taillights add to the vibrant appearance.
“The best bit though, is the price. VIVA will debut at a very affordable £8,000.”
VIVA is the latest Vauxhall to feature the new 1.0-litre, three-cylinder ECOTEC engine. Specially developed for VIVA, this 75PS powertrain is smooth, punchy and efficient, and is paired with a slick five-speed transmission. Like its stablemates ADAM and Corsa, VIVA will be fully connected, thanks to the optional IntelliLink infotainment system, which allows seamless integration of Apple iOS and Android devices. It’s also equipped with ESP featuring traction control, ABS with Electronic Brake-Force Distribution and Hill Start Assist, which prevents the car from rolling back when starting on a slope, and Lane Departure Warning.
Other standard features are City Mode (also on ADAM and Corsa) cruise control and fog lights. Optional features are sunroof, air conditioning, IntelliLink, Park Assist and Winter pack (heated steering wheel and seats). VIVA is available in 10 exterior colours. The best bit though, is the price. VIVA will debut at a very affordable £8,000.
